Girls Varsity Golf
The Graves County golf team traveled to Kentucky Dam on Thursday to play Marshall County. Marshall County is one of the favorites in both boys and girls golf. Winning today would give either Graves County team a boost this early in the season. The match was tight throughout as all of the groupings were evenly matched. In girls' play, Graves County won the team competition with a 173-176 score. This was the Lady Eagles lowest team total in 3 years. The team was led by Nicole Taylor's 41 followed by Laney Shoulta's 43 and Madison Myers' 43. Other scores for the Eagles were Abby Lyell 46 and Neely Shoulta 51. The Eagles played hard as well but could not pull out the win dropping a one stroke result 166-165. Jake Morgan led the Eagles with a 38 followed closely by Ryan Overby 40. Other scores for Graves County were Dawson Fowler 41, Josh Roy 48, Chase Carrico 47, and Bryce Hayden 51. Both Graves County teams will be in action on Saturday as they travel to Paxton Park in Paducah to play in the Paducah Tilghman Invitational with an 8:00 am start time.
