Girls Varsity Golf
The 11th annual Lady Eagle Invitational started overcast but finished with a blast. The individual winner could not be determined without playing an additional hole. Payton Carter from Henderson County and Shelby Darnell of Madisonville-North Hopkins shot identical scores of two-over par 72. The participants played one additional hole and Carter made a four-foot par putt to win the individual portion of the tournament. Carlie Shoemaker of Muhlenburg County, Devany Cope of Mayfield, Hallie Riley of Marshall County, and Nicole Taylor (78) of Graves County round out the top six finishers. Other Lady Eagle scores were as follows Madison Myers 93, Neely Shoulta 98, Laney Shoulta 106, Abby Lyell 114, Macy Rodgers 119, Megan Dobrose 122, Sarah Lyell 138. The team competition was close as nine strokes separated the second and fifth place teams. Marshall County won the team competition by 14 strokes with a 336. McCracken County 350, Muhlenberg County 351, Madisonville-North Hopkins 358, Murray 359, Owensboro Apollo 369, and Graves County 375 round out the team competition.
