The Lady Eagles entertained Tennessee opponent Dyersburg High on Saturday. The Dyersburg girl’s team has been a state tournament participant the last few years and proved to be a formidable opponent.  They proved to be as advertised as they defeated the unbeaten Lady Eagles 6-3.  The Lady Eagles did not back down as they had two matches which could have reversed the results.  The match started with doubles and Dyersburg swept the Lady Eagles 0-3.  Junior Carson McKee led the Lady Eagles with an impressive 8-3 win.  Madison Wiggins played her fourth close match in two days winning from behind 9-7.  Williams and Lamb followed with wins of their own taking 8-0 and 8-2 decisions.   Laken Schultz, Ellie Mitchell, Maddy Williams, Gabbie Lamb, and Allie Clark won 8-1 and 8-2 decisions. Ellie Mitchell and Wiggins-Lamb lost heartbreakers as the Lady Eagles could not pull out the win.  The Lady Eagles lost 4-5 and are 7-1 on the year. Both Graves County teams will be in action on Tuesday as they entertain Paducah Tilghman.

Highlights The Eagles entertained Tennessee opponent Dyersburg High on Saturday.  The Dyersburg boys’ team were undefeated on the season and had only lost on set the entire season.  Graves County boys fell behind early after doubles, 1-2.  The Eagles managed to pull things together during the single competition winning 5 of 6 matches.  Jaron Hale, Isaac Carrico, Brady Ellegood, and Alejandro Hernando won with identical 8-2 scores.  Matthew Whitaker had a tougher time as he trailed early 5-6.  He pulled things together late winning the last three games for a 9-7 decision.  In extra matches, Matthew and Mark Whitaker won with an 8-6 score.  The Eagles won the match 6-3 and are 5-3 on the year. Both Graves County teams will be in action on Tuesday as they entertain Paducah Tilghman.
